The Winter Wishes Project!

Hello scholars of Tijeras Creek, we would like to let you know of a new fundraiser we just started! If you   haven’t looked at the title already, it’s The Winter Wishes Project!

What our school is trying to accomplish is to collect as many gently used jackets, coats, sweatshirts, or beanies for the homeless in our community, this winter. If you don’t have any of those items, you can also donate a new pairs of socks. The reason we are doing this is because we would like to help make people more comfortable this winter.

If you  could take some time out of your day and search through your closets (including parents) to see if you have any jackets, coats, sweatshirts, or beanies to donate to our school. There will be a box in the office and at the Friday assemblies until Thanksgiving (last day to donate is November 18).

Thank you so much for reading about our fundraiser, we hope we can collect enough jackets, coats, beanies, and new pairs of socks this winter for the homeless.

"Beyond The Clouds" offers students the opportunity to creatively express their visions of an aviation related artwork depicting the theme.  John Wayne Airport is encouraging Tijeras Creek Elementary Students to participate in their 27th Annual Student Art Contest and Exhibition.

Artwork is to be turned into the Orange County Department of Education by November 3.  Fifty four selected pieces will be on display at our local John Wayne Airport from December 6-January 3rd.  More information and entry forms are located in Tijeras Creek’s front office.  What an honor it would be to have one of our creative TCES students on display during the busy travel season at the airport!
